Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how PEF Aware (the “App”) handles information. The App does not require you to create an account with us, and your health and measurement data is not uploaded to our servers.
Data stored on your device
The App is a health tracking tool. You may enter information such as your name, date of birth, height, weight, medications, PEF (peak expiratory flow) measurements, symptom notes, and monitoring period details. This information is health-related and is stored locally on your device so you can view history, generate PDF reports, set local measurement reminders, and continue tracking over time.
On mobile, the App stores data in a local database. App settings (such as reminder preferences and language) are stored using platform storage mechanisms.
Optional backup: On iOS, the App can sync a backup to your personal iCloud
account under the container iCloud.fi.softaware.pefaware. This data is managed by
Apple under your Apple ID. You may also export and import your data
as a JSON file from Settings; you choose where exported files are saved.
PDF reports are generated on your device. You choose whether to save, print, or share them. We do not receive copies of your PDF reports.
Retention and deletion
Health and app data on your device
We do not copy or store your health or measurement data. It stays on your device (or in backups you choose) until you remove it.
- How long we keep it: For as long as it remains on your device or in backups you control (iCloud or exported JSON files).

How to delete it:
- Delete individual measurements in the App.
- Android: uninstall the App, or go to Settings → Apps → PEF Aware → Storage and tap Clear storage or Clear data.
- iOS: delete the App from your device to remove local data.
- Delete any JSON export files wherever you saved them.
- iCloud (iOS): remove the App’s iCloud data via your Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage, or delete the backup from your iCloud container.
Once deleted from your device or backups, we cannot restore your data. Contact us if you need help finding these options — see Contact below.
Analytics (Firebase)
On supported platforms, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand aggregated App usage (for example, which screens are opened). Your health and measurement data (PEF values, symptoms, medications, and profile details) is not sent to analytics.
- How long it is kept: Analytics data is processed by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy.
- How to delete it: We cannot delete records Google may hold on your behalf. For data processed by Google, refer to Google’s privacy and data controls.
Advertising (AdMob)
On iOS and Android, the App may show third-party advertisements through Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, advertising IDs, and usage signals to deliver and measure ads. Health and measurement data you enter in the App is not used for ad targeting and is not shared with advertisers.
- How long it is kept: Ad-related data is processed by Google and its partners under Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s advertising technologies. Softaware does not store this data on its own servers.
- How to delete it or change choices: Where required by law (for example, in the EEA or UK), the App may show a consent form through Google’s User Messaging Platform before serving personalized ads. When available, open Settings → Ad privacy settings in the App to review or change your advertising choices.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services. They may receive technical data such as device or App version and aggregated usage signals. They do not receive your PEF measurements, symptoms, medications, or profile details.

We do not sell your health data.
